Submit an Obituary

Honoring a loved one with a published obituary is a meaningful way to share their story and invite others to remember them. There is no fee for publication on Obituary News.

What to Include

To prepare an obituary for publication, please send us the following information:

• Full name of the deceased (including middle names and any nicknames)
• Date of birth and date of passing
• City and state of residence
• A photograph (high resolution preferred — JPG or PNG, at least 800px wide)
• The obituary text — biography, family details, life events, anything you wish to share
• Survivors and predeceased family members (if you wish to include them)
• Service information if any services are open to the public
• Memorial preferences — charitable causes the family wishes to feature
• Your name, relationship to the deceased, and contact information

How to Submit

We typically publish within 24-48 hours of receipt. You will receive a confirmation with the URL once the obituary is live.

Editorial Review

All submissions are reviewed by our editorial team. We may make minor edits for clarity, grammar, or style consistency, but we never alter facts or make substantive changes without your approval. If we have questions, we will contact you before publishing.

Updates and Corrections

If you need to update or correct an obituary after publication, please contact us via the Contact page. There is no charge for corrections at any time.
