There are stories only long lives can tell. We are grateful for her.
Constance Schaefer Skinner, 81 of Parker died Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 7:00pm at Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker with family present starting at 6:00pm. Constance Lee Schaefer Skinner was born on December 25, 1941 at Mitchell, SD to Eugene Walter and Dorothy (Novak) Hurd. She attended country school near Letcher, SD and in high school her family moved to Hurley where she graduated from Hurley High School in 1959. On August 29, 1959 she was united in marriage to Jerold Schaefer. They lived on a farm near Parker. He died in 1989. She was united in marriage to Arlen Skinner on September 18, 2004. They moved into Parker and lived at Turner Village and in 2019 she became a resident of Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls. Arlen died in 2014. She was involved in Extension Club, Tuesday morning neighborhood coffee club and the Parker Booster Club. Grateful for having shared her life are her 4 children, Perriann Schaefer, Sioux Falls, Jeffrey (Jill) Schaefer, Parker, Julie (Michael) Covais, Lennox and Eugene Schaefer, Parker; 2 granddaughters, Haley (Erich) Schmidt and Katelyn (Ethan Bird) Schaefer; and an aunt, Lucille Giegling, Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Pamela, and her husbands, Jerold and Arlen.
