Doris Flint, 93, of Viborg, SD has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.
The chapters of her life were many; these are some of them.
Doris's story began in 1932, and unfolded across the years that followed.
Doris held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
Belief, when lived, becomes a kind of inheritance.
Doris Flint, 93 of Viborg, passed away on February 13, 2026 at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the First Baptist Church, Viborg. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.Doris Ann (Hokenstad) Flint was born October 2, 1932 in Corson, SD to Telmer and Mary Hokenstad. She graduated from Parker High School and went to receive her teaching certificate and taught in rural country schools and was a cook in a few local cafes, hospitals, nursing homes, and the Hurley School.Doris married Lyle Flint on May 27, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Parker. To this union they had 2 sons Rex and Tim.Doris enjoyed gardening, canning and made the best homemade bread and cinnamon rolls. She also enjoyed being a farmers wife helping with farm chores, especially with the baby animals. Doris was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.Doris will be missed. She is survived by her sons Rex (Connie) of Hurley and Tim of Viborg; grandchildren Jamie (Scott) Krogstad of Dell Rapids and Dakota Flint of Viborg; great-grandchildren Taya, Cade, Emmy, and Halle; sister-in-law Marilyn Sonnerman; her cousin Lucille Gabriel; and her nieces, nephews, and many friends. Doris is preceded in death by her husband Lyle, her parents, brother Robert, sisters Wanda and Marjorie, and granddaughter Chyenne.
