Charlotte Eli, 77,, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.

Born in 1947, Charlotte began a life that would touch many along the way.
Charlotte held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
The community of faith holds its own well — and Charlotte was held.
Charlotte Eli, of Tea and formerly of Viborg, died Saturday, September 7, 2024 at her home under hospice care. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Spring Valley Lutheran Church, Viborg with burial in Meldahl Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Tuesday evening at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Chapel in Viborg. Charlotte Marie Eli was born on August 19, 1947 at Mitchell, SD to Frank and Evelyn (Sigmund) Hohn. After graduating from Mitchell High School she moved to Yankton where while working at the Freeman Company she met James M. Eli and they where married on October 18, 1969 in Mitchell, SD. They lived at Center Point, SD, Council Bluffs, Iowa before moving back to Viborg, SD in 1993 where her husband had his shop at Center Point and she was employed as the manager with Pump N Stuff. She enjoyed following and watching her Minnesota Twins but especially enjoyed watching her grandkids sporting events. Her husband Jim died in 2016 and she moved to Tea, SD to be closer to family. Grateful for having shared her life are her 3 children, John Eli of Tea, Dawn Eli of Sioux Falls, and Scott (Chari) Eli of Lennox; 5 grandchildren, Monica (Travis) Vanden Top, Josie Eli, Nick Eli, Ethan Eli and Layci Eli; a great granddaughter, Raelynn; a brother Sam (Karen) Hohn, Jupiter, Fl; and a sister Nadine Ozanne, Mitchell, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother Gary.
