It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Glen Novak, 72, — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

These pages are a small offering toward a much larger life.

Glen entered this world in 1952 — the start of a journey that would span 73 years.

Glen spent his working life as ['Roy DeNeui at his service station in Hurley', 'Landmark Construction and Butler Buildings'] and held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

The traditions Glen loved will continue to hold those he loved.

Glen Novak, 72 of Hurley, passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2025. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hurley. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.Glen Ray Novak was born on August 21, 1952 in West Point, Nebraska to Harry and Darlene (Brehmer) Novak. He was the 6th of 8 children, following Robert, Leonard, Diane, Duane, and Merlin; they were later joined by Melody and Mark. They moved to Hurley as the family grew. He graduated from Hurley High School and joined the United States Army. He earned the rank of E-4 and was Honorably Discharged in 1974.Glen worked numerous jobs in his life. He first worked for Roy DeNeui at his service station in Hurley. He worked for Landmark Construction and Butler Buildings, where he helped with many different projects. Glen as helped with many different things at Rechnagel's. He also helped his brother Leonard farming the family land.Glen will be missed. He is survived by his sister Melody of Hurley, sisters-in-law Rita Novak, Alice Klinkenborg; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Darlene, and siblings Robert Novak, Leonard Novak, Diane Roth, Duane Novak, Merlin Novak, and Mark Novak.
