Jim "Otis" Larson, 55,, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

Jim spent his working life as ['Pepsi Bottling Company in Estherville'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Jim "Otis" Larson, 55 of Lennox, SD died Saturday, February 19, 2022 while working of an apparent heart attack. Services will be on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Heritage Funeral Home, 57 th and Minnesota, Sioux Falls with a visitation from 5-7pm with a Celebration of Life service at 7:00pm. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to the charity of the donors choice. James Lee Larson was born on October 18, 1966 at the Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa to Gerald and Frances (Gayken) Larson. Otis spent his childhood years in Estherville where he graduated from Estherville High School in 1985. After high school he worked for Pepsi Bottling Company in Estherville. Moving to the Sioux Falls area he got started in his craft and trade for FM Acoustical Tile, later going on his own, forming JL Larson Acoustical Ceilings. Having a entrepreneur spirit he was involved in the bar and restaurant business, operating Otis's Bar and Grill in Worthing. We will all miss his unusual sense of humor, friendliness and story telling but most of all his big heart. Grateful for having shared his life are his mother Fran, Jackson, MN; his sister Deb (Curt) Ringgenberg, Jackson, MN; his brother Steven (special friend Jennifer) Larson, Sherburn, MN; and nieces and nephews, Andrea, Kirsten, Jordan, Jeremy, Madyson, Morgan, Kolton, Makena, Kylar, Kale and Mylee. He was preceded in death by his Dad and grandparents.
