Lamara Kuck, 81, of Parker, SD, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.

A life remembered begins, simply, with the telling.

Born in 1943, Lamara began a life that would touch many along the way.

Lamara spent her working life as ['a short time as a seamstress in Freeman'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Lamara carried decades of memory, and now those memories pass to us.

Lamara Kuck, 81 of Parker, passed away on November 22, 2025 at the Tieszen Memorial Home, Marion. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Calvary Reformed Church, Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home. The service will be broadcasted on her obituary page.Lamara Jean Marsh was born on November 25, 1943, to Merrill and Leora (Griebel) Marsh in Monroe, SD. She was the only child and grew up on the farm, attending school in Parker, SD. She married David J. Kuck on August 7, 1964, at the Reformed Church in Monroe, SD. They lived mostly in Parker with a short time being in Sioux Falls. They raised 5 children together.She was mostly a homemaker and worked for a short time as a seamstress in Freeman, SD. She bred beagles, volunteered at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls and was part of the Ladies Auxiliary in Parker. During the week of the Turner County Fair, Lamara helped with BINGO and the military museum in Heritage Park. She enjoyed fishing, and during deer hunting she stayed at the hotel room playing board and card games with her granddaughters. Lamara was one for few words and listened as her grandkids told stories of events at school and in sports activities.Grateful for having shared her life are her children Chuck (Shar) Kuck of Bridgewater, Todd Kuck of Mitchell, Tammy (Loren) Roth of Freeman, SD; 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, David; daughters, Terri Trautman and Ellen Kuck; great grandson, Nathan Vaca; her parents, Merrill and Leora Marsh.
