The story begins in 1938, with the arrival of a life that would be cherished by many.

What Marilyn gave her children, they will give to theirs.

Marilyn "Grandma Towns" Pencook (Beekman) passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 6th, 2014 in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 76. Marilyn Catherine, daughter of Carl and Jennie (Schroeder) Beekman was born on July 3rd, 1938 in Charles City, Iowa. She grew up in Charles City attending Nashua High School. After high school she married Robert Pencook, on April 9th, 1961. The couple welcomed their 4 children into their home, Todd, Lisa, Michael, and Kelly where Marilyn raised them as a stay at home mom. Her children remember her as always being very involved in their activities. After her children became older, Marilyn began driving school bus for the Parker School District in Parker, SD. She also held a long time position at the Lennox nursing home as a CNA. Marilyn was a witty individual who loved BINGO, playing cards with her friends, family, and grandchildren enjoying a "red one" every now and then. She was passionate about WWE wrestling and spending time with her friends. She also attended the Rose Bowl of 1996 where the USC Trojans defeated the Northwestern Wildcats. Marilyn was also member of the Eastern Star Jasper Chapter #8. Ever grateful for having shared her life and survived by her children, Todd Pencook (Liberty, MO), Lisa (Craig) Honadel (Sioux Falls, SD), Mike (Michelle) Pencook (Kearney, MO), and Kelly (John) Pencook (Hawarden, IA); Robert Pencook (Buckner, MO); sisters, Anna Mae Bahlman (Nashua, IA), Doris Dana (Huntsville, AL), Florence McGregor (Minnesota), and (Nashua, IA); grandchildren, Derek (Ashley) Howard, Lacey Simonsen, Travis (Lindsie) Simonsen, Megan (David) Pencook-Morant, Tyler Pencook, Mariel Pencook, Mallory Pencook, Jordan Pencook, Katrina Coffield, Menley Pencook, Nicholas Pencook; and her 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Carl; mother, Jennie; twin sister, Marjorie; infant brother, Carl; sister, Madelon Groen; brother, Carlisle; Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 11:00am at Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls with visitation an hour before services. All who knew Marilyn are welcome to attend and celebrate Marilyn's life with her family.
