Born in 1930, Keith began a life that would touch many along the way.

Keith spent his working life as ['Kolman Manufacturing before moving to Leadville'] and held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Faith gave Keith a place to stand, and a place to return to.

Keith Weegar, 82, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital, Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at First English Lutheran Church, Parker with burial with military honors at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will be Monday at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. Keith Otto Weegar was born on June 2, 1930 near Parker, SD to Orval Jacob and Leona (Schaefer) Weegar. They lived in the Monroe area where he attended country school. He worked for his uncle George Schaefer before serving in the US Marine Corps from 1951-1953. On February 27, 1959 he was united in marriage to Jeanette Ahrendt Kasten at Sioux Falls. He worked for Kolman Manufacturing before moving to Leadville, CO in 1963. He was employed with Climax Molybdenum Company for 19 years until the mine was shutdown. In 1990 they moved back to an acreage east of Parker and he worked various jobs through his mid 70's. He was a member of the Chancellor American Legion. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Jeanette; 2 sons, Michael, Parker and Patrick (Patsy), Mankato, MN; step-children, Joel Kasten, Round Mountain, NV, Barbara Hansen, Chester, SD, Bonnie (Bill) Banks, Elko, NV, and Larry (Terri) Kasten, Sioux Falls; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Orval and William, both of Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Lee, sister Keo Rose, and stepson Richard.
