Margaret Bousfield, 82,, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.

The following words honor a life that mattered to many.

Born in 1934, Margaret began a life that would touch many along the way.

Margaret held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

The community of faith holds its own well — and Margaret was held.

Margaret Louise Kraft Bousfield, 82 of Parker, possessed one of the kindest, gentlest hearts God has created--and it peacefully stopped beating May 28, 2017. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Thursday, June 1, 2017 at First English Lutheran Church, Parker with burial at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm Wednesday with family present from 6-8pm at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker. Margaret was born October 3, 1934 to Rev. Albert and Hulda "Schwarz" Kraft, the youngest child of a large and loving family. She was born in Quinn, SD, confirmed in Norris, SD, and moved to Parker, SD during her high school years where she met the love of her life, James R. "Bud" Bousfield. They were united in marriage February 8, 1953 and were within a month of celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary when Bud passed away. They had two daughters Joani (Thom) Schultz born 1953, and Bonnie (Jim) Young born 1957. Margaret was a talented woman in many ways. She was devoted to her Lord Jesus Christ and an active participant in the life of First English Lutheran Church and LWML. She was a skilled seamstress and even had an upholstery business with her friend Ruby. She enjoyed making quilts with her church friends for gifts and Orphan Grain Train. She traveled the world with Bud, Gert, other family, and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A great cook, and devoted farm wife, Margaret was a loving, selfless woman admired by all who knew her. Margaret is survived by daughters Joani and Bonnie, grandchildren Matt (Shawna) Schultz, Ethan Young, Elizabeth Young, and great grand daughter, Cadence Schultz (who joined the family April 6, 2017), sisters Gertrude Ring, and Goldie Eisenbraun, and many more relatives. Margaret and Bud enjoyed a special lifelong relationship with the Rand family: Jim and Sharla, Kathy (fiancé Rick), Matt and Josie, Jon and Angie, Tyler and Amanda, Dick and Demme, Haylee and Aaron, and Aimee (fiancé Noah). Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud, and sisters Frieda, Ann, Paula, Esther, and brothers Albert, Walt, Emil, and Alton. The memory of her faith, generosity, unconditional love, quick laughter, and compassion for all will be cherished.
