Daniel Benson, 41 of Hurley, passed away of an apparent heart attack on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Viborg. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Harmony Presbyterian Church, Hurley with burial at the Hurley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday, September 11, 2022 at the Church with a Prayer Service starting at 7:00 PM. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home. Daniel Duane Benson was born on January 31, 1981 at the Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Viborg to Duane and Lori (Larsen) Benson. He grew up in the Hurley area where he attended school, graduating from Hurley High School in 1999. After graduation he farmed, raised cattle and was an owner of T N D Trucking. On June 30, 2007 he was united in marriage to Thresha Flyger at Parker, SD. He enjoyed darts, golf, riding in the Black Hills and helping coach his childrens ball teams. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Thresha and their children, Dax and Sadie; his parents Duane and Lori Benson; his brother Greg; his sisters Carly (Eric) Skonhovd and Caitlin (Charlie) Olinger; and his mother and father in law, Craig and Connie Flyger.
