After a life of love and quiet grace, Diane Bagley, 80, has passed.

What you read below is one part of a life lived with quiet purpose.

Diane entered this world in 1942 — the start of a journey that would span 81 years.

Diane held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Those who live by belief leave a different kind of mark.

Diane was born to Emil (Jack) Horst and Irene (Knittel) Horst in Mission SD on May 24, 1942. She grew up in Mission and graduated from Todd County High School. After high school she pursued a degree in Home Economics and went on to earn her Masters Degree in Education from Colorado State University. On June 6th of 1965 she was united in marriage to Keith Bagley. The couple taught at Todd County High School and began their life together in Mission. In 1976 a daughter, Lynette, joined them. Several years after this Diane and Keith moved to Hurley where they Owned and Operated several small businesses including a Trucking Business, a Tree Moving Business, a Greenhouse and a Fireworks Stand. Diane was the mainstay of the greenhouse business, making beautiful planters for Memorial Day each year. In addition to their business ventures, Diane and Keith also had a small farming operation which Diane continued to manage until her death. In 1997, Diane and Keith decided to explore a whole new business venture and purchased the Arrow Campground which also moved them back to West River South Dakota with a new residence in Wall SD. Throughout the years of owning and operating the campground they met many friends from all over the country and had their regular guests - including many combining crews - who might bring them peaches from Colorado or Sweet Corn from Wisconsin or even fry them up a fish dinner. In 2019 the couple sold the Campground and retired to their home in Hurley. Diane was a life long member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, an avid reader, an exceptional cook and always up on all the family news - keeping in touch with many cousins by phone each week. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing Bingo, cards and games. She is survived by daughter, Lynette, son-in-law, Dale and granddaughter, Gabrielle. Diane was preceded in death by her husband Keith in 2021, her parents, Jack and Irene Horst and her in laws Addie and Vera Bagley
