Richard Alan Gering, 63 died Monday, April 11, 2016 from natural causes. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Chapel, Marion. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday evening. Richard Alan Gering was born on July 6, 1952 at Sioux Falls, SD to Sidney and Helen (Nielsen) Gering. He grew up at Hurley, SD where he graduated from Hurley High School in 1970. On August 13, 1972 he married Patricia Kramer at Parker. They lived in Marion and he was an over the road truck driver most of his life. He loved to fish, be on the water, and work on computers. Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter Melissa Gering, Marion; a brother Bruce (Donette) Gering, Sioux Falls; 2 nieces and 3 nephews; and Pat Gering, Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
