Harriet E. Bertelsen, 78,, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.

What remains is memory — and the gratitude of those she loved.

Harriet E. Bertlesen, 78 of Benbrook, TX and a native of Irene, SD, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Mira Vista Home in Fort Worth, Texas after a bout with cancer.Harriet was born on September 26, 1940 to Harvey and Viola Bertelsen of Irene, SD. She graduated from Irene High School in 1957. After graduating from Nettelton College in Sioux Falls, SD she worked for Champion/Union Pacific until her retirement. She volunteered at the Casa Mana Theater in Arlington, Texas, and taught movie classes at two colleges in Fort Worth, Texas.Grateful for having shared her life are her 2 sisters Gwen (Jim) Hansen, Beverly Bertelsen; a brother Paul (Bonnie) Bertelsen; and a nephew Brian (Laura) Hansen. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a niece Rebecca BertelsenFuneral Services will be held in Texas. Visitation will be held at Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker from 5-7pm Monday, November 5, 2018. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Irene.Blessed be her memory.
