James entered this world in 1930 — the start of a journey that would span 88 years.

James spent his working life as ['the metal salvage until he retired full time to his home'] and held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

What James believed shaped how he loved.

James Wallace, 88 a resident of Lifescapes, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his home unit. Funeral services will be at 4:00pm Friday, September 7, 2018 at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 2208 West LaQuinta Street, Sioux Falls with visitation an hour before services. Burial will be in the Hurley Cemetery. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. James Arthur Wallace was born on July 19, 1930 at Hurley, SD to Franklin and Gladys (Sedelmeier) Wallace. He attended school in Hurley for a short time before moving to Redfield. While at Redfield he worked at the metal salvage until he retired full time to his home. In 1984 he enrolled with Sioux Vocational Services and School in Sioux Falls which later became LifeScape. He enjoyed living with his fellow residents and the staff which became his friends. He enjoyed donuts and coffee, pizza, and going out for ice cream. Grateful for having shared his life are a brother Gerald Wallace, Norfold, NE; his fellow residents and the staff of LifeScape.
