Luverne Adam Weier, 82,, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

What remains is memory — and the gratitude of those he loved.

Born in 1931, Luverne began a life that would touch many along the way.

Luverne held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

The community of faith holds its own well — and Luverne was held.

LuVerne A. Weier, 82 of Albuquerque, NM and native of South Dakota, died January 12, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Saturday, May 10, 2014 at St. Boniface/Idylwilde Catholic Church, rural Freeman, SD. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker. LuVerne Adam Weier was born on February 14, 1931 on the family farm near Freeman, SD in Turner County to John and Christina (Goettertz) Weier. He received his elementary education at District #47 and Hurley High School. He enlisted into the US Air Force and made the service his career. While on active duty he served in Turkey and France. Her retired from the Air Force in 1972, after 20 years of service, as staff sergeant. He went into civil service in New Mexico as Army Military Police guarding ammo depots. He lived his remaining years in Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by a brother Jerome (Helen) Weier of Hurley, SD and a host of nieces and nephews.
