Paul Martin Johnson, 66 of Viborg, died Thursday, October 19, 2023 at his home of natural causes. Memorial services will be at 10:30am Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Chapel in Viborg with visitation an hour before services. Burial will be at the Rosehill Cemetery, Viborg, SD. Paul Martin Johnson was born December 18, 1956 in the Viborg, SD to Donald Carl and Helen Mae (Lauritzen) Johnson. He was raised on the family farm west of Viborg and graduated from Viborg High School in 1975. He attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, SD where he obtained a Master Degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Paul returned to Viborg are where he remained for the rest of his life. He was well read and could converse on many subjects. Paul was a friend to many cats over the course of his life. He loved his niece and nephew and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Helen Johnson and brother-in-law, Marty Glood. Grateful for having shared his life are his sister Donna (Richard) Ozmun of Northfield, MN; Niece Jenny (Bert) Post and family, Kylie, Topher, Bea and Elle of Sioux Falls; and Nephew Jamie (Michele) Glood and family Brianna, Nathan and Aaron of Prescott, WI.
