With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Denny Jacobson, 69,.

A life is more than dates on a stone; here is a small portion of his story.

Denny entered this world in 1948 — the start of a journey that would span 70 years.

Denny held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

What Denny believed shaped how he loved.

Dennis Earl Jacobson was born on November 29, 1948 the youngest child to Floyd and Ruby (Fullwiler) Jacobson. He attended school at Hillyside #43 in Turner County and also Faith School at Hooker, SD. Denny lived on the farm with his parents until they passed away and then he moved to Hurley, SD where he purchased a new trailer house and worked various jobs throughout the years. Six years ago he moved into an apartment in Viborg. One of his favorite pastimes was going to auction sales. He loved to collect model cars, trucks, horses, and dog figurines. Before his passing he saw to it that each niece and nephew received a car or truck. He especially enjoyed family get togethers. Grateful for having shared his life are his 3 sisters, Betty Ketter, Yankton, Donna (Jim) Bjornebo, Madison, and Doris (Marvin) Johnson, Freeman; 3 sisters in law, Ethel Jacobson, Mary Ellen Jacobson, and Carol Jacobson; many nieces, nephews, and friends; also a very special friend Shirley Deckert, Freeman who was his case manager for many years; and his dog Gabby who was a great companion. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rhodora, 7 brothers, George, Kenneth, Charles, Robert, Harold, William, and Douglas, a nephew Robert Jr and a niece Bonnie Walter.
