Sioux Falls, SD — Marjorie Mae Froisland, 95, passed away on Friday morning, February 28, 2025. Marjorie Mae Tweedt, the youngest of three children of John and Gena (Valen) Tweedt, was born on May 2, 1929, on the family farm that was located 2 miles southeast of the Palestine Church near Dolliver, Iowa. Marjorie attended Dolliver School, graduating in 1947. She spent one year attending Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa where she met her future husband, Richard Ole Froisland. Following her education, she worked in Fort Dodge, Iowa. On October 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Richard Froisland in Estherville, Iowa. Shortly thereafter, the couple moved and farmed the family farm in Moorland, Iowa, spending their life together raising three children, James, Marcia, and Jeffrey. A daughter, Michelle, the youngest child, passed away shortly after birth. Marjorie was very active. She spent her time raising the three children, caring for a large garden, staying active in Fulton Luther Church, helping out with the farm work, and homestead. She also spent eight years working nights at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge, Iowa. They both enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family after they retired. She loved the farm, which she stayed on until she could no longer. Survivors include her son, James (Mary) Froisland of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and his children, Jennifer (Ben) Olson, Stephanie (Dan) Richardson, and Christopher (Ali) Froisland and great grandchildren, Elliot, Gretta, Letty, Signe and Maren; daughter, Marcia (Don) Nelson of San Antonio, Texas, and her children, Erin (Mike) Pennington and Andy Nelson and great grandchildren, Zack and Liam and son, Jeffrey Froisland of Scottsdale, Arizona, and his daughter Signe.
