After a life of love and quiet grace, Shana Letsche, 44, of Florence, SD, SD has passed.
Some lives speak quietly; her is one such story.
The story begins in 1981, with the arrival of a life that would be cherished by many.
Shana held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
Some find their compass in faith. Shana was among them.
Shana Letsche, 44 of Florence, formerly of Hartford, passed away on March 26, 2026. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hartford. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM at the church. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home.Shana Melane Letsche was born on October 16, 1981 to Loren and Marsha (Bernd) Letsche. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. Shana graduated from Parker High School in 2000.Raised on a farm, Shana had a passion for horses, excelling in 4-H Rodeos with Duke. She later had Acero, a Paso Fino, and went on many rides with him. Throughout her life she worked with many other horses. Koepplyn and her filly Brinley will miss her talking and working with them.Along with her love of horses, she also enjoyed photography (which she excelled at), cars, and drag racing. She spent many weekends throughout the years at Thunder Valley Dragway as a both photographer and racer. She had a Greenthumb, as her home was adorned with a variety of plants and flowers inside and out.Shana will be greatly missed. She is survived by her parents Loren and Marsha; sister Stacy (Patrick) Luzmoor; niece Shayne (Billy Cook) Luzmoor; aunt Cheryl (Andy) Olson; and special friend Ryan Thorson. Shana was preceded in death by her brother Shane, and her grandparents Roger and Etta Bernd and Laurence and Esther Letsche.We Love You.
